The Importance of A Strategic "Entourage" for FASTER Success...

Tonight, I watched the season finale of the HBO series, Entourage. 1 of only 2 shows I watch (Family Guy is the other).

It's a series that started out as a loosely based story of Mark Walhberg's success.

Basically it's one Hollywood super-star taking care of "his boys" (his entourage) so that they too can live the good life, advance their careers, find their successes and more... mixed in with this story line about friendship are helicopter rides, Playboy mansion parties, Vegas trips, a never ending flow of models as extras, cameos from dozens of big name actors ... and on it goes.

That story line really appeals to me.

Sure the plush rock-star life and luxury toys and oodles of girls, that's all GREAT...

But a friend taking care of his friends, helping other up-and-comers, while having fun and furthering his own success ... how perfect of a life-model is that!?

THE IMPORTANCE OF AN ENTOURAGE...

In my social life, I have my own "entourage" ... the friends I've known for years and are closest to me.

But I also pay close attention to who I include in my business/success "entourage" (or mastermind, if you prefer).

Although I know hundreds (or thousands?) of entrepreneurs and peers in my industry ... I have roughly 15-ish people that I'm priviledged not only to have built close friendships with, but I can brainstorm with about business because each of them is very accomplished in what they do.

Yes I have likely hundreds of loose friendships through-out the industries such as internet marketing, information marketing, direct marketing etc...

But of those, my core "entourage" is extremely valuable to me... and I make sure that I, in return, am very valuable to them (besides the friendships we all enjoy).

This entourage can serve as input/critique to my own business model and launches; we pool resources; we, at minimum, consider each others' new products and promotions and if its a fit, introduce it to our respective audiences ...

Just recently, I gave one of my advantage resources to one of these mastermind friends. This resource I wouldn't sell for less than $5000 and even then I'd be selective as to who gets a copy.

With another of these mastermind friends, I know of a product series they're about to launch and have previewed a lot of it. And I can tell that this product will be GREAT content for the customer... and, because the marketing and salescopy that's already being put in place is SO good, it will also be a great opp for affiliates... so I'm going to present his affiliate opp to my own affiliate base.

If he and I weren't already friends, I'd never endorse his affiliate program because I never would have reviewed it.

Some of the benefits of having the right "entourage" include creative joint ventures and cross-promotions, pooling resources, nearly guaranteed strong affiliate partners for any launch, a "second opinion" with free feedback and critiques for any promotion you're working on...

And just so much more!

Outside of the "business" world, I built a friendship with "Tom".

"Tom" isn't new to business but is (was!) brand new to information marketing, direct marketing and most of internet marketing.

And most importantly, I got him in touch with a handful of the guys who are part of my "entourage".

Some of these guys have been a millionaire since age 22, others have taken part in record breaking info product launches online and others charge clients nearly $30k per project...

These characters have also built a friendship with "Tom".

"Tom", who was newbie just months ago has been able to pick the brains and enjoy exact-next-step type guidance from a handful of my (and now his!) marketer entourage.

He took his niche from concept, with no webpage, no list, no product, no sales just months ago...

To now sitting at $1800/monthly residual.

Sure... not earth shattering numbers but his business is in a small niche (completely unrelated to the "internet marketing" and "make money" crowds)...

And the reality is, he went from scratch ($0) to $1800 monthly (and growing) in mere months.

Several of us project he'll hit $8000+ per month by in the next few months based on his current exponential growth.

Would "Tom" been able to attain $8000/month without these "entourage" members?

I don't doubt it for a second!! He has an incredible work ethic, terrific passion about him and the willigness to actually get to work.

But since I know some of the tips and guidance he's enjoyed from within the "entourage" ... I'm also sure that he wouldn't have climbed this quick. In fact, some of his original ideas of where to spend his time and money could have set him back a lot.

Because of proper experienced mentorship and input, he saved a LOT of money and a lot of his time.

Do you trim this tree often? You should!

Do you make an effort to "recruit" select individuals into your entourage?

And if they joined you, what benefit would they enjoy from you and your group?

Build a short-list of your top peers...

Aim to strengthen the friendships (both for the social benefits and the mutual win-win financial benefits).

Put focus into building your group.
