I obviously can’t ship out gifts to 21,000+ subscribers, thousands of past clients, 694+ facebook friends, 300+ Skype contacts and 4369+ Twitter followers …
(For a handful of reasons that would be entirely impractical)…
But I want to ship out something. To somebody.
Let’s hold a contest!
I’d like to hear either YOUR 2010 goals (what do you plan to accomplish) or your 2010 general prediction (about ANYTHING, bring your crystall ball out… what do you see will happen in the world in 2010?).
Here is the contest:
1) Post your answer to the question “What is one of your main goal for 2010? OR What is one of your predictions for what will happen in 2010?” … post an answer using the [Leave a Comment] link below.
2) Depending on how much spirit we get into this contest, I’ll send out AT LEAST 1 gift (shipped from Amazon) to a random selected winner that I’ll select on January 1st. (Insider tip: I’ll probably pick THREE winners… I kind of have to … it goes with my Genie brand of 3 wishes!)
So 1 to 3 replies here have a chance to win some swag… On January 1st, I’m revisiting this post and will pull 1 (or 3!) random winners and will ship them a gift from Amazon…
PRIZES? WHAT PRIZES?
I’m going to let you pick.
Let’s say $250 value. Go explore on Amazon now if you’d like… you can even post a link to what “Santa” should send you for “Christmas” (ie: what *I* should send you when you win). Or, wait until Jan 1st. And you can pick your prize once I’ve pulled the winner(s)…
ENTER now. Costs you nothing to play along and it will help feed a great brainstorming session here. I wonder who will be willing to start this off with the first Comment.
(Want to invite others to include their answers and give them a chance at a gift? That’s thoughtful of you! … If you have family/friends you’d like to tell about this, by all means. Same thing if you want to mention it to blog readers or Twitter followers or facebook buddies.)
LEAVE A COMMENT below and answer the question:
“What is one of your main goal for 2010? OR What is one of your predictions for what will happen in 2010?”
Hi, it’s a bit offtopic but may I ask you where did you get this blog template? I’m going to start bloggin as well, I’m a bit noob though but I really like it Let me know… Anyway, nice website!
Hey Rob, all the best for the holiday season! Okay I’ll jump on board and share my goals for 2010.
In the year 2010 more people will discover that they can indeed achieve great things in their lives starting with conscious decisions choosing a positive thought over a negative or action over procrastination or self doubt.
In 2010 I choose to begin the journey of success with multiple streams of income on the net. To be more patient… to listen more… and to GIVE more.
The winner of this quick random contest of ours is:
“Kristy Perott says:
In 2010 I want to get my business organized so I can make the money in a more relaxed way…
And for predictions? Mobile advertising will get big
Kristy P”
Congrats Kristy! I’m going to email you as well. But if you see this first, my contact info is at the bottom of this page, every one of my other pages and at RobToth.com/support.
PS. What I’ll do instead is send $250 GC to you so you can shop when you prefer. More convenient for me and more flexible for you.
Thanks again everyone! Make 2010 huge especially if you listed your goals here… take the action steps to reach your goals.
(The holidays and the random last-minute nature of this contest gave us some great replies here but only 41 contestants. Had we hit hundreds of entries, I’d pick 3 winners as it’s a little more fun and fair that way.)
My goals this year are to a) grow my list to 50,000+ (it is currently 11,000) b) Get the subscriber #s up from 200 – 500 for my monthly continuity site, and to pull at least 10,000 per month from my business!
I’ve been working 16 hour days lately so in a few months I also want to hire a few employees / VAs so I can work a little less and enjoy life a little more!
My Main Goal is Clear for 2010-To Make Enough Money to Buy a Home in Maui-Hawaii by The End of The Year (as a Christmas Present to My Wife-Katie) and I’ll be Darned, I’m Going to Make it, Working All Day Long, Every Day if I Have To.
My Prediction for 2010-I’m Guessing, that a Whole Lot of The Populace is Going to Go Absolutely Nuts, Thinking that They Only Have till 2012 to Live. It’s Utterly Unbelievable, Just How Many People in Every Single Nation in The World, Are Dreading The Day it Happens, Without Knowing Just What Will Happen. (To Me, it’s a Pure Mystery, to Think that if You Took All Those People, Placed Them All on One Continent (let’s say North America-including Canada at this time of the year especially) You Wouldn’t Have Room Enough to Cross the Street in Most of The States, But You Could However, Pile Them Up 10 High as Frozen Popsicles in Cold, Cold Canada, But Watch Out if They Ever Thaw-Out…
One of my main goals for 2010 is to develop enough self discipline to make a work schedule and stick to it long enough to see some results, then add to it to increase results. I have been making random and ineffective attempts to make money online for too long. This year it’s either do something fast, or get a second J.O.B.
I have been a fan of internet marketing for a couple years, but so far I only have head knowledge. My goal for the new year is to create a web business that will pay all my living expenses. Thanks for the motivation to put my goal in writing!
My main goal for 2010 is to continue with some training that I have been working on, and to replace my past income from slave wage work so that I can afford to give my lovely wife and kids some great vacation time and freedom from worries about the economy and other things. Of course, getting a true online income without working too many hours so they have the gift of more of my time and activities with them is my ultimate goal.
My goal is increase my internet income from about $500 per month, to over $2000 this year from one site, and to get the other one to a steady traffic over 200 per day.
My goal for 2010 is to get my blog humming along, with regular postings each week, and lots of article marketing to drive traffic, resulting in consistent and growing income. My biggest challenge is to overcome inertia and work hard on this every single day to make it a reality.
Rob, thanks for the invitation for some personal reflection.
For my goal I seek to be perceived as a sincere and trustworthy resource in this IM swamp. I believe thousands will be seeking to supplement or even replace their families incomes. Many of course will fall prey to the shysters and excellent ad copy. Of course shame on many for falling for the ‘make thousands for 10 minutes of work a week’ come-along.
Those with integrity and traffic may help many avoid the inevitable pitfalls, many of us from personal experiences. People instinctively learn to discern intent.
The ability to project character are those that will come to know untold riches, financially and in self-satisfaction. It is then that the adage ‘to those whom much is given, much will be required’ will play out in unimaginable ways … some an individual at a time. The potential ripple effect is indeed exciting.
Regarding my $100K goal, I won’t be too disappointed if I don’t achieve it within the given timeframe. Besides, I’m studying under Jeff Walker right now, so I’m confident that even if I don’t hit my goal by August, I’ll hit it in the following year. With Jeff, I’m building a business…it’s a great feeling to be gathering assets and building a biz instead of doing hope marketing. Even Jack Canfield didn’t hit his goal in that first year. He came close…and then became filthy rich real quick
Anyway…thanks for running this contest! Happy generic winter holiday!
My main goal for 2010 is to follow through and implement more of the overload of products that I already have on my computer. I have many products and systems already in place that unfortunately are not doing much at all. Seems that I trust others too much, or have faith in them to do what they tell me they will do, and get disappointed time after time. All I can do is hope that it will chnage with more of my own hard work involved.
Charlie
My primary goal for 2010 is to get my updated website going. Been at it for two years. It is designed but needs me to write the content. Easy for some but time is my issue. I run a auto racing sales business and work a full time job as an engineer. I study marketing under Dan Kennedy and other experts so I know what I need to do but struggle to get it all done. The updated site has room for a regular blog, inner membership that allows access to info not readily available to the public. It is about desire and focus. This year we succeeded because we ran more ads, updated them monthy, sent our more direct mail and sent more direct emails to our clients.
Rob – Wonderful idea, and it is fantastic to see so many people fired up about making 2010 a great year! I’ve already decided that 2010 is going to be my best year ever! In fact, I’m giving a free call next week to help my readers and listeners create a plan to make it their best year as well.
For myself, my major goal this year is to maximize my income streams, so that I can provide some important material things for my family. My wife and I are looking to buy a home, but at the same time I need to address other pressing matters: My daughter is a fre$hman at college, my dog just needed $urgery, (paying weekly on that!), and my mother just had to move into senior housing – which isn’t working for me at all.
Therefore, I intend to EXPLODE this year. I am going to work hard, I am going to work smart, and I am going to take advantage of every worthwhile opportunity that comes my way. I am going to SMASH my self-limiting beliefs and step bravely into the future that I create for myself.
For my business goals I intend to increase my monthly income 50% by June 30th, and by another 50% by year’s end. I will create and release one new product per month, including 4 major product launches. I will land at least 4 major speaking jobs, I will be contacted by a publisher who wants to turn one of my e-books into a hardcover, I will have my first television appearance, and I will finally score those elusive interviews with Dr. Wayne Dyer and with Anthony Robbins.
On a more personal level, 2010 will be the year I am able to fulfill some of my wife’s desires, we will visit Sedona, Las Vegas, and a surprise trip to Paris. (Don’t tell her!)
As far as predicting the future of 2010, I think we will continue to see the internet grow and integrate into more and more aspects of daily life. Privacy will continue to be an issue with technology pushing the boundaries of pubic/private space.
Here’s something else I predict for 2010, and this is true for everyone reading this:
I will have challenges. But it is how I react to those challenges that will make the difference in my life. If I play the blame game or make excuses for myself I will wind up with the same results as last year. But if I face those challenges and deal with them while staying focused on my main goals I will find a way to not only overcome those challenges, but to benefit and profit from them!
Thanks again Rob!
Best wishes and have a warm, wonderful, and safe holiday!
Hey Rob, I am hoping that in 2010 I can actually follow up on all the beginning work I have started to get my internet business actually making a profit of any kind.
I need to spend more time focusing and try to put behind the wreck of a year that 2009 turned out to be.
If I can manage to squeeze a few extra dollars from my meager wages at my j.o.b. I would like to invest in your new Money Genie Now system but at this time I would like to pass by this xmas season thing and move forward first with a new place to live for my family and I so that I can get centered again without all the outside distractions that life has forced upon me the last few months.
Take care and hoping to work with you in the new year.
My Goals for 2010:
Buy and use more automation tools, but not those delivering garbage in my email or on the net but helping me create genuine and unique content for users on the internet and getting more and more commissions on the products I promote, and those I sell myself.
My predictions: 1) The guy who is able to create a tool (or wordpress plugins) to help in this and WITH a great proven Conversion rate, will make much money. Even if I see already some products coming close to it, the “real thing ” needs to be created. I think people like Mike Filsaine will work on this , but I alwas found him very grady in the % he takes for himself, much more enjoyed the “genie” products. Even if I did not use your services to create my websites, I know you do your ” magic” very well.
2) More and more gurus will appear on the internet scene, since everyone thinks it is easy to lean to others what you learned by yourself, and it will become harder to diffeentiate yourself from the crowd, and stand above the free delivered content in the 1$ trials.
3) People will discover other search engines than Google -like Twitter that is at this moment in position 1 to take over, if they find a way to cut the spam.
4) Internet becomes the nr 1 resource around the world and will be 24/24 extention of our minds. On the long term it will integrated in all our lives activities.
My goal for 2010 is to rebuild my online business from the ground up…and that includes ditching my old subscribers, and building a BRAND NEW list of subscribers.
I usually don’t participate in these types of things but your post grabbed my attention and made me stop and think for a minute. I lost my job a year ago and had not been able to find work. I’ve spent the last year learning everything that I need to know to make it in the web business both online and in serving small businesses offline with their websites. I have been very busy over the past 2 months implementing some of what I’ve learned and am just starting to see a few dollars start trickling in through various niche markets that I’m in.
My main goal for 2010 is to be able to stay focused enough to follow through. There are so many marketers trying to grab your attention these days. I have learned that this internet marketing thing is really hard work, so if there are any newbies reading this, my advice is to be prepared for some long hours or get out now because reading emails looking for that magic button all day isn’t going to get you anywhere fast.
Since you are the Genie Rob, I’m giving you three wishes thus my second goal is to be able to generate enough cash flow to be able to outsource some of the work to others and my third and final goal is after all is said and done, to be able to give back to internet marketing community. Maybe take one person each year and help them reach their goal for no fee. Just to give back. If every successful marketer did this with one person each year just think what an impact it would have. There you have it, my three wishes!
Oops, I know this is long winded but my prediction for 2010 is that our greedy politicians in Washington are going to try and find a way to put a damper on our online businesses. I hope I’m wrong but the way things are going it looks like they are trying to tax anything that they can get their mitts on, including the air I breath.
2010 will be my best year yet! I just started really getting motivated in internet marketing as well as maintaining my blog toward the end of this year. And I predict that 2010 will be the year that I will finally see myself succeed online. 2010 will be a year full of action on my part. Action that means something, that leads to something – a better successful me. Top 10 for me -for sure.
Thanks Rob for the contest and an early congratz to those who win.
My Goal – To earn as much monthly income from my own business (websites as well as consulting) as I currently make at my ‘job’ by the 6 month mark of 2010, giving me the option of becoming my own boss full time. I will stop analyzing every minor detail and instead take massive action to launch new projects and improve my current ones, in order to reach my goal. As someone who has not made any substantial income online/consulting this is an aggressive goal, but one I am confident I will achieve. My first consulting interview/appointment is on Thursday, so hopefully that will get things off to a good start. I’m not someone that usually posts comments on these things, so the fact that I’m taking the time to do so helps reinforce that I know I will make this goal a reality.
Prediction – I will fail many, many times in the coming year. At least I hope I do. I have amassed an incredible amount of knowledge from yourself and others like you, and it is time to put that information to good use. When I take action to achieve my goals, I know there will be many times that things don’t go as planned or the results will not be as expected. The easy route is to do nothing, but I know by trying new and different strategies, some failures will be inevitable. I will learn from my shortcomings in order to turn them into positives. I didn’t have many failures this past year, but that’s easy when you’re kind of coasting along with your job and thinking about all the great things you’d like to do or businesses you’d like to start, but not actually taking any steps to make it happen. Among my failures will be many successes, and the combination of both will lead me towards achieving my goal.
Thanks for all the great info you provide, and for allowing me a space to express my thoughts. A very Merry Christmas to all,
May family and friends all set aside any differences and enjoy those things that bind us together – and for the hope and promise of a new year.
What I want for Christmas,
The wisdom that I will never know it all – and the confidence to take action anyway.
The clarity to see the good and potential within all people, even those very different than myself, and the caring heart to encourage all with whom I come in contact with.
The abilities I will need to create a better life for my family, others I work with, and to the customers I serve.
New Years Revelations,
Actions speak louder than words.
Give til you get, then give some more.
It’s not about me.
You grow more by helping others.
Life is a journey not a destination so value each day.
And every day,
I thank God for all things, and in whom, strengthens me, and wants me to prosper.
And for the new year to come…
May we all enjoy and experience more than we can even now imagine in 2010.
Hey thanks guys for playing along on here… these are GREAT!!
Shoot, with participation picking up like this… I might have to send out 2 or 3 gifts.
Patrick: Self employed gets my vote too. And I also agree with the further exponential growth in online entrepreneurs… let’s just hope that in their quest, they don’t all get stuck in the world of selling nothing but “make money” info-products. I got stuck there for too long. There’s a much bigger online world out there though…
Earl: Procrastination is an “evil habit” many have to fight through. I still haven’t won that battle… I’m just gotten better at holding my own during the fight. Best of success to you!
Joseph: Well I sure hope so… could mean a lot of good to everyone if more companies focus on a “bigger picture” mission statement.
Rob: Automate as much as you can and delegate the rest. I still do too much (constantly evolving) but I’ve setup systems or brought in VAs for plenty… and it GREATLY impacts the ability to grow.
(ECS) Dave: I think my email wrecked the 1 in 3 odds that you had. Oops.
George: Good luck with your goal.
Dave: Chunked down that $3300 per month. So let’s call it $1000 per week for good measure. Best wishes with your goal… that goal ($1000 per week) was my very first goal 6 years ago back when I discovered I could create my own income.
Stuart S.: Beautiful! Definitely best wishes in making it a massive 2010! A “perfect 10″ year!
Stuart E. (It’s attack of the Stuart’s!)… Thank you. Merry Ho Ho Ho to you and your as well. And that’s really cool about your copywriter protege. The $3 is laughable … not because it’s $3 but, like you said, we can all remember our first few bucks. And I personally laugh … because my first commission check was somewhere in the $12 range and you have no idea how excited I was about that. So that’s REALLY cool about your budding copywriter and really great of you to help him out like that. Best of continued success to each of you!
V: Can I call you V? Increasing net literacy is a big big deal these days. It first raided our homes on computers, more recently (though years ago), on phones and now other gadgets … the net will just keep becoming more and more a part of our habitual world. So good on you for developing that knowledge base.
Curtis: Good seeing you here. $100k by Aug… how far along you are for that target… but assuming it’s a new $100k in 6 months … that’s averaging $16k monthly… or $4k weekly. OR, put a better way.. it’s a bigger promotion or “launch” with a pay-out of $30k every 2 months. Definitely a strong goal. It will feel pretty slick having hit it though… so best wishes with that. Re: your prediction … I personally feel that’s more of the “maturity cycle” and applies to many markets and many situations. Actors who get in with hope and hype and later leave as veterans saying “it’s just not the same”. Rappers who pretty much also sing in their songs about how “they created the rap game” but now it all changed. Etc. But yes, I agree we’ll see this going on in 2010.
Joann: Awesome! I hear you! I actually just took 2 hours and sat down to write up my time budget for Jan and Feb. (That’s basically figuring out what will need most of my time/focus)… got my ducks somewhat lined up I think. Good luck getting yours lined as well. And Merry Xmas and Happy 2010 to you too!!
Marty: Ha! Good luck with your super affiliate goals.
Austin: I completely agree about the sense of community. I’m the guy who strikes a conversation randomly because otherwise I’d have to break into a conversation with myself… I’m addicted to socializing and meeting others. But you’re right… I know a lot of society has got accustomed to being in a bubble. I still get a kick out of the elevator syndrome… 2 people (friends) who are already in the elevator will be talking… then the elevator stops to let in 2 new people who were talking while waiting for the elevator… but now they get in the elevator and EVERYONE shuts up. As if it’s a big crime or a sense of embarrassment to share a conversation with others around. Best wishes in 2010 Austin!
Yvonne: Wow … great prediction. I sure hope you’re right. That’s a message that needs to spread.
Dale: I have a friend who has THOUSANDS of emails in her “to read” folder, hundreds of great ideas and a private library that’s more impressive than some public libraries… constant pursuit of book knowledge (nothing wrong with that), but NEVER coupled with action. That imbalance will have her become wise but continually less and less impressed with her success because as time goes on, she’ll realize more and more of all the MANY opportunities that she was aware of and “trained” on yet never took action on. So yes! Un-glue yourself from the chair.
Thanks everyone for posting!
Keep them coming! I might not be able to read it or reply right away but I’ll definitely read all of these goals and predictions.
New decade. Time for action.
2010 will the year that I commit to use all the knowledge I have collected, both in my head and on my hard drive. I have allowed a variety of distractions to keep me from realizing my IM goals. At times I look around and feel like a carpenter in a room full of tools, raw materials, and great design ideas…..but I have ‘glued’ myself to the chair getting more tools, more wood, and more great designs…..but have neglected what is already around me. I will now act. I will use what I have and get it going. I am sure I am not alone in this, but only I can get me going.
Rob, I have followed your journey, appreciated your no-nonsense approach and have bought a few things from you. I just needed a kick in the butt. Maybe your question forced me to put this on digital paper and make me live up to it. Feel free to email me in a few weeks and see how I am doing. If I am still ’stuck in the mud’, please give me another kick.
Best wishes for the season, however you celebrate it, and I wish you continued success in 2010!.
My main goal for the new year is to be a better friend, mother, daughter, mentor and supporter to those that I am these. My main prediction for the new year is that people everywhere will begin to stand on their own two feet and do all they can to make their lives the best it can be without depending on the government or family and friends to bail them out.
I have built dozens of websites over the years. From auto surf sites and PTC sites to my new adventure a downline builder called Affilitize. I have not had much success since I do not have an advertising budget but I still believe in my abilities. I have come to realize the NEED for a better sense of community in our society. People have become far to isolated to the point that people hardly notice anything in their world anymore. I wanted my site Affilitize.info to be a site that brings people together.
It is MY site. I am still working on it and any one who joins would be working with me to build their downlines. This, I’m hoping, will allow me to generate an income that allows me and my affiliates to make our communities better by donating to schools, or kids sports teams.
There are millions of people with millions of dollars who do nothing with it yet there are people who truly need help. My 2010 is going to be my best! My online business is going to explode and I hope that by helping all my members create a better future for themselves my future will be better because of it.
My prediction is your going to be a well known Guru Rob the rich genie guru Toth will be the name. I hope to be self sufficient this year and to become a well known affiliate Marketer so I can start helping others gain the wealth we all deserve.
My goal for the new year is to be more focused and get my “ducks lined up” so I can start to make a profitable business.
Rob, have “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year”!
My goal for 2010 is to make $100000 by August. I watched “The Secret” back in August ‘09 and decided to copy Jack Canfield’s goal of $100K in 12 months. I didn’t have any idea how I was going to achieve it, but I know that even if I don’t make it to that mark, whatever I do achieve will not have been possible had I not set that goal for myself.
It is an ambitious goal, especially for someone still in university (3rd year). A secondary goal for me would be to afford my own place + living expenses and still have enough to live comfortably, all within the next couple years.
I know you said “OR” in your question, but I wanted to leave a rather cynical prediction I predict that more and more “guru launches” will occur selling the exact same stuff; the big IM forums will burst at the seams with newbies, scammers, idiots, or some combination of the above (and veterans will start to leave); and, on a more positive note, something BIG and game-changing (in a good way) will happen.
For 2010, i plan to be a better person. Improve my self and the services i make available to the community. I also see myself more literate in the use of the internet both for personal and business purposes and more professional in dealing with Internet marketers.
I believe that by 2010, more people will perform conscienticized activities and goals facilitated by the availability of internet.
First up, all the best to you and your family for Christmas and 2010.
My goal for 2010 is quite simple really…
I’ve just started helping a budding copywriter. He wrote to me to thank me for a free book and things blossomed from there.
Thing is he lives in Kenya, has no job, money, website, computer or Internet connection – has to work from a cybercafe – but he writes well and is keen as mustard.
The other day he wrote me as happy as the proverbial pig in it – he’d just made his first money online. He sold an article for $3.00! It really made me smile because I knew how he felt, heck we’ve all been there at one time or another haven’t we?
Anyway, I coach him and I’ve managed to get him some more writing work at $100 a time and am working on getting him bigger jobs.
When he’s successful and got his own PC website etc. I’ll REALLY be happy, then I can find others to help.
I don’t charge him a cent because for me the pleasure’s in the helping not the money.
Hi Rob, well seeing as you asked nicely, I’d love to tell you my goals for 2010. Firstly, I want to really cut out my brand (my name Stuart Stirling) as an internet marketing teacher who helps beginners to advanced marketers make more money with less effort. Second, I’m planning to turn my current biz into a 6 figure a year biz. And to do that I’m planning to create and offer a high value, high-end product (or three). I’m currently planning for a massive 2010 and I’m looking forward to guidance from you.
Regards,
Stuart Stirling
This year I want to make $40,000, over and above my pensions. This will increase my capital enough that I can make further progress while making a significant contribution to my younger sister’s retirement. She spent so much time helping our late mother in her declining years that she did not have the time to do much for herself. The other family members are not useful so I am the one who has to help her.
I had 2 traffic exchanges made for me this year, and my plans for next year is to learn how to build them myself. I have been watching videos and reading what I can, but it is hard to find them on traffic exchanges, so I will feel my way through it and see what comes out. I hope to have build my first traffic exchange by the 1st of February.
One of my main goals, perhaps even the MAIN one, is to quit my “Day J.O.B.” and become a somewhat self-sufficient (outsourced partners notwithstanding) entrepreneur…
’nuff said!
Be Well!
ECS Dave
P.S. Now I have (so far) a one in three chance of winning that awesome prize!
My primary goal for 2010 is to see automated at least 50% of the manual tasks of the business, freeing up my time to start new projects and run with new ideas
It will be imperative that you either “participate in” or “start and frame” the conversation that will end up being the “story” of your business that determines the perception others will have about your products and services.
In other words…
The social aspect of the Internet will become very important as time goes on in 2010, reaching a critical level by year’s end.
My Goal could easily be to earn a certain amount of income because once again I’ve found an excellent outlet of information and products, (namely this site and the affiliate program.)But that goal somehow has become secondary to a nagging procrastination and lack of focus and therefore a lack in work ethic. For me to overcome these obstacles whether I become a big earner or not is a self improvement that I would cherish, and it is therefore my goal to increase my focus and work ethic, for then financial reward would be a welcome by-product. I believe the internet offers the world on a platter but many will find a way not to reach for it. So my prediction for 2010 is, the “guru” who comes down to motivate the most people into action will not only change many lives, but will change the internet and thus the world because Self employment or working from home will be a must for most people.
My main goal: return to being self-employed. I was self-employed for 19 years as a computer consultant in Seattle. I’ve been experiencing the wonder of the magic of direct deposit and the flip side of the not-so-magical layoff for the past 10 years. Self-employment is definitely better.
My prediction: there is going to be an absolute explosion of new entrepreneurs hitting the Internet in 2010, the likes of which has never been seen before. And I do believe, for the sake of brevity here, you and I both know why. One man’s recession is another man’s depression is another man’s… opportunity. A global reality check forcing people to finally act and take their lives into their own hands.
