I like black and white and read all over for the simple fact that I can mark something of importance and refer back to it. Watching videos takes mucho time that I simply don’t have. Hi Don… I build my business along those lines. On my end, I call it The Genie Principle: Give Give Give to Get. I’m happy to keep creating products and release them for free or record case studies or create step by step checklists or walk through what’s working for me etc… and offer all that for free. Because down the road, there will be times (such as my Canada Marketing Summit event or a physical book release) where I’d hope that my subscribers/readers would invest a bit of consideration. That’s not to say they’ll buy…. but it’s a noisy marketplace with a lot of false claims. So I’d rather be responsible in delivering content to the user… letting THEM decide (based on the free copies and based on results they get with my free advice) whether I’m just another “me too” or someone who’s worth his salt … and if it’s the later, then I’m more likely to have my valued subscribers and customers take MY offers into consideration. But you absolutely HAVE to deliver content! I entirely agree. Even with “free”… it’s a bit dangerous because “free” can cost you A LOT (in terms of time, or possibly being sent in the wrong direction… bad advice).
