How much is a lead worth to you? Or how much is a lead worth when you refer them to any affiliate offer?
Doesn’t much matter if you’re only involved in affiliate promotions or if you have your own business (and, therefore, your own leads).
Do you have an approximate of the 30-day, 90-day, 1-year value of that lead?
Here are a couple of my stats…
I checked the numbers on one particular program that I’ve promoted in the past and I found that after sending over 2000 leads to their sales funnel, each referral was worth an average of $3.40 to me aleady (which means it was worth a lot more than that for the merchant since they keep 50% of the sale AND they get the lead).
In one of my brand new promotions, recently 108 new leads were worth nearly $600… which means each lead was already worth about $5.56 to me. PER double-verified optin lead.
You can bet I’ll keep pushing that for a long time.
Let me ask you this…
How many leads could you refer to a free offer if it paid you $8 for just the LEAD (not a sale, just a lead)?
Consider this..
Suppose there’s a $47 info-product with 50% commission split. So each sale is worth $23.50 to you.
You send 100 visitors. Let’s say it converts at 2%. 2 sales … so $47 paid to you.
But what if you were being paid on leads?
The lead converts at 33%.
100 visitors now means 33 leads you’ll be paid for.
At even $3 value per lead… you just made $99 not $47 … *AND* you made that $99 promoting a high value fr*ee offer instead of a salespage … *AND* that’s using my low $3 per lead numbers.
Are you starting to see why lead generation is BIG business.
It’s MUCH more profitable and more fulfilling to the affiliate, and it’s a hassle-free way for the merchant to end up with a lot of leads.

Not knowing your numbers is like flying in the dark without radar. As for the pay per lead it’s far easier to give something away for free than it is to sale something.
