You are right on the target pointing out the traps a “newbie” gets into. He / she is novice searching a way out of this haystack. There are many temptetions and lot of hype. Every “Guru” is talking about millions. Everyone says it is so easy. An impression is created that internet marketing is the easiest way of becoming a millionaire. Everybody is forgetting that this is no diiferent than a brick and mortar company. You have to have business plans, goals, strategy and most important a LOT OF ACTION. Most important thing to do for a newbie will be to find out the real guru who can teach the correct things and lead towards achieving the goals. That is the most difficult part, I think.
Hi Rob
Anyone who is lucky enough to read your ‘Rude Reply’ Report is very fortunate – I wish I had seen it a very long time ago because I too wouldn’t have wasted so much time and effort.
Regretably, when a so called “newbie” starts on the road to having their own online business, they only have others to go by, and then fall prey to the online gurus. The inevitable result is that you believe everything they say, buy everything they suggest and then end up broke with your credit cards maxed out, and no further forward with your dreams.
I speak from experience, and always ask myself “How Did I Fall For That”? I never could get my head around the fact that in my mind – How could I sell information money making products myself – When I hadn’t made a penny online? – it didn’t add up to me and I remained somewhat confused but determined to learn more by reading 100’s of ebooks and watching videos and listening to countless audios.
Then I decided that I need to start something, I was tired of learning but not doing! So I put up my first website about something that I did know about, and I learnt a hell of a lot more by ‘doing’ and it’s outside the make money brigade.
So I agree entirely with the contents of your report Rob and would reccommend it to anyone as a ‘must read’.
Thanks for that Rob, it’s certainly logical common sense and I have no doubt at all that there are hundreds of thousands of Tims On Line today!
The other side of the coin – almost – is the approach used by several big marketers (easily recognised for their own selling success) where they get Tim’s telephone number through some info scheme he has opted into (from which he really hoped to learn).
Then their staff ring Tim several times, at odd hours of the day or night, with pressure suggestions that he can’t be serious about his wanting an On Line Business if he doesn’t immediately agree to maxing out all his Credit Cards to promise them $1997 dollars to have his hand held for 6 months or less!!
It usually takes several calls before they get Tim’s message that whilst he wants to take it seriously he just cannot afford $2000 up front in the hope that it will solve his problem.
Many “Tims” end up broke and utterly disillusioned as a result of submitting to this sort of pressure.
Finding the path in between these two extremes is the best aim in my book. I believe that Tim can learn a lot of the basics on free or inexpensively provided courses/memberships, and then when he/she understands the business more clearly they can more readily choose a mentor and training in a more aim-related manner.
So, I don’t disagree with you Rob, I just needed to express some of my strong feelings at the almost unethical pressure I have seen applied from “power” organisations in this IM field.
It will take a Genie (or someone similar) to see me right through the maze, but I AM getting there. Thanks for your help.
John
You hit the hammer on the head with the revelation in your report. It beats me how someone who hasn’t achieve any success online will want to teach people how to achieve success online. That is crazy and in my book, criminal. But people do this again and again and it is quite unfortunate that many never made a dime online self acclaimed guru get away with this deceit. As you pointed out- A case of the blind leading the blind. And it is little wonder only a few achieve real success online. I have made many blunders myself and even before reading this article, i realised that choosing the interneting marketing niche was my biggest mistake. And it is so sad that i had wasted thousands and precious time before it finally dawned on me. Anyway, i have learnt my lesson and please give this report to as many people as possible because i believe the information in it will help many from falling and for those who had fallen, it is time to start afresh.
Thanks a great deal Rob.
Glad my adlib, spur of the moment, rant-in-digital-print was of use to some…
Ely… know, there’s probably 2 more levels up on my rudeness meter. But it’s very unlikely I’ll ever turn the notch up to those levels, so yes this is the best I got.
That being said, I once had a client here locally email me to ask me if I had downed a bottle of whiskey before I sent a critique/review over to her. Apparently I didn’t hold much back there either.
Not so much of an eye opener in my case more of a re-opener. Although I think I’ve always fully understood what you are saying I don’t think it really sank in until you said it. (I know what I mean even if everybody else is now completely confused!)
I understand your point with “Tim”a little knowledge applied in the wrong direction can be a dangerous situation.Do not underestimate the value obtained through correct training and following the strategies proven to work.It will be time well spent and deliver the results you are after.
Was that the most rude you can get? Wow, you are the most polite gentle person I’ve met !
Yes, I agree with you points. It’s hard to break an addiction even if you know it’s bad for you so most people reading it will keep making the same mistakes over and over again. I know I do but at least I’m trying to learn from them and improve.
Thanks for being you,
Ely
P.S. If at any point in time you feel you want to donate some of your time – call me LOL How is that for a “lazy” pitch?
Rob
What can I say? You always tell it like it is, and that’s one of the many reasons I buy your products. No Hype no BS just the facts Mame!
Keep up the good work and I’ll see you at the Summit!
Hey Rob,Thanks for your insight it was definitely refreshing to hear that the make money market is not the only market out there to tap into. I was starting to wonder because I’m not making any money in my niche but I guess I still don’t know what I’m doing so I am all ears and willing to learn from an expert.
You are so on target with all the “Tim’s” out there.
There are also the “Tina’s” who aren’t as bad and don’t make all the mistakes the “Tim’s” do; they know they don’t know everything and try to learn and get “professional help” but then don’t use it or think they “know better” and make disasterous changes in what they were told (or ingone “unimportant” — read, inconvenient/uncomfortable parts of it).
I loved every word. You should never have to apologize to someone for telling them the truth. But in this day and age it can seem rude to tell the truth. Actually I appreciate a good slug or slap in face with truth over hype and baloney any day.
You made some good points on the importance of having a mentor. I’ll have to save up some coin and contact you sometime.
Keep up the good work my friend. I wish you continued success.
